Oxford Civic Society

The Oxford Civic Society is a voluntary organisation with charitable status that was founded in 1969 with the aim of improving Oxford as a city for living, and working and relaxing in. Hence OSC is involved in statutory, voluntary and commercial activities and plans that involve changes to Oxford’s buildings and public spaces, travel and transport, environment and community. With a membership of nearly 1000 including individuals, corporate members and residents associations, the OCS is concerned with promoting a sustainable, well-adjusted physical and community infrastructure that all citizens can benefit from now and in the future. To achieve this, the OSC balance present and future needs of the city with an appreciation of its past
